about McCarty Photo Studio
“There are always two people in every picture: the photographer and the viewer.” -Ansel Adams
I was fortunate enough to be born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska, where I developed an early interest in the arts. Blame the long winters, the dark Alaskan nights, or the vast emptiness of state but the truth is it was the people who inspired me. Fairbanks has a unique and driven artistic community that encouraged me to pursue my passions. However, turning my passion into a career meant that I needed to leave Alaska and, for the past 20 years, I’ve been working in the arts in the “Lower 48.”
Since those days I’ve been fascinated by people and their stories. Our histories, beliefs, and dreams are etched in our eyes and written on our skin. I love capturing the emotion of a moment; freezing time so my clients can see how special and beautiful they truly are. I live to surprise my clients – whether they are a family, a model or a corporate CEO – with how vibrant, strong and attractive they appear. To shock them with how the world perceives them, not just as they see themselves.
